The loud beeping sound of a truck backing upcoming from the neighbour’s house intrigued her, so she put down the grass broom that she was using to sweep the floor, momentarily abandoning her task, and moved to the window, curious to see what was going on outside.  

She sat on the edge of the old mattress that she used as her bed, her legs curled up to support her head that she held her hands and wept. Defeated. Ashamed. Hopeless. It had happened again.“Why Lord?” she wept. “Why me?” “Why did you choose me for all of this?” 

For me, 2020 Started off pretty much the same as every year; I was dreaming up new goals and setting up plans for the year. Little did I know that 60 days later, the world was going to come to a standstill, and that life as I knew it would be turned upside down and inside out.  It's been over a year and I am still coupled up at home, spending most of my days in my basement. But as we end the first half of 2021,I want to be intentional about being thankful. Many bad things have happened, - yes, but many good things have happened too. And for these, I give thanks!
